Welcome! Please sign in at the table by our front door. 

The school handbook contained within your child’s agenda is quite comprehensive, so I will refer you to that regarding grades, make up work, school policies, etc.  Please sign and return the form in the front of the agenda. 

Please look for a Friday folder each week and sign the sheet stapled on the front of it.  The papers in the folder will have been graded by me or completed together in class and graded by your child.

Look for homework daily that will be in a folder we will label.  Also look for the agenda and initial it daily.

If you see “INC” on a paper or workbook or journal page, your child did not complete it as assigned.  I will cross out the INC when the page is complete.

The spelling test will be on Friday.  Eventually some children will have different lists.  For now we will all do the same list.

The AR goal for all the students this first nine weeks will be ten points.  The children who reach their goal will receive a certificate.  I will adjust the AR goals as needed throughout the year.

The children will take NWEA tests soon. These are tests given on the computer in the fall and spring of each year.  They help determine what teachers need to cover during the year, show if our school is reaching its academic goals, and give you as a parent some basis for determining how your child is achieving.  Please see that your child is well rested for these tests.  I will let you know when we will test.

Your child will be placed in a reading group after some preliminary testing and evaluation has been done.

Please send the following coins with your child in a baggie labeled with his/her name:

                                                    10 pennies

                                                      5 nickels

                                                    10 dimes

                                                      3 quarters

These coins will be helpful in math lessons.  We will use the money for a party at the end of the year.
