HOMEWORK
2/8 - 2/12
Students have been instructed as to what to wear for DARE graduation on Thursday. We will distribute the t shirts on Thursday morning. Students will need to wear a shirt they can wear comfortably under their DARE shirt. (which is navy blue) Suggestions: solid colored turtle neck shirts or long sleeve single color shirts.
Parents:
Please send me a note if you are interested in having your child participate in the Soap Box Derby. This is a fun opportunity that can also earn scholarships. Let me know if you'd like more information. Thank you!!
Remember snow gear for outdoor recess!!
Students may leave snow pants in our closet as long as they have names in them.
DARE graduation - Thursday, 2/11 at 10:00. Parents are welcome to attend!!
Information on DARE graduation was sent home 1/26. Look for it!!!
Please include extra napkins and/or paper towels in your child's lunch box. They need to use them as a placement on their desk while they eat. Children are putting their food directly on their desks! I'm sure the desk they've been using all morning is not clean enough!! Thank you for your continued support of our efforts to keep our work areas as "germ-free" as possible.
Please review the uniform code. We are still having issues with socks. Uniform socks COVER the ankle. Sport socks or low-cut socks are not uniform. Thank you for your help with this matter. This is still a concern 5 months into the school year!!
Religion - This week we will begin our study of Lent. Ash Wednesday is during break. Please remember to attend Mass that day.
Math - We begin our study of ratios and proportions. Weekly work due WED. this week.
Please sign and return the fraction test. Complete P/R 6-2 in wkbk. In other words, (both sides of pg. 66)
Science - Study notes. Complete folder work by WED. Ask your sixth grader about this week's experiments.
Health - No class this week due to DARE graduation and the Bristol trip.
Reading - For WEDNESDAY: Read Chapter 20 and complete study guide questions. It has come to my attention that students are skimming through the story to answer the few questions they have, and not actually reading the story. Parents, PLEASE encourage you children to do these assignments properly. We are trying to instill strong study habits!! Be advised there will be reading homework over break.
Spelling - Lesson 20 pages due Thursday, 2/11. Contract work due 2/11. Test 2/11 also.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR PLANNER DAILY!!
