Grading Policy Grading Policy

Reminders will be written on the white board. Check this everyday.      Quizzes, lab grades, homework, class work will count once and tests and projects will count twice. All grades are added together and divided to get the average grade.

·       Midterm and final exams count as 1/7th of your yearly average.

·       Tests and announced quizzes will be given when we complete a unit.

Notes will be given before each test.

If you study the notes and pay attention in class, you will make a good grade.

All test and quizzes are made

from the notes; however, you will be required to explain answers.

It will not be a matter of reciting notes, and then forgetting it after the test.

You will think in this class!

·         You must complete your work within 3 days of your arrival back to school.

If you are absent several days

in a row, you will be allowed more time. You will need to get notes from our website,

if you do not have internet access at home please use school computers.

Four computers are available in our classroom, or

copies from the teacher as a last result.

Test and quizzes will be made up during class.

·         If you are present at the time an assignment is due, and do not turn it in, it is a zero that day.

If you do

not turn in homework on time, it is a zero as well. This is a school wide policy.

·         Planners and binders will be checked randomly to make sure you are organized and have

all assignments written down.

Binders should have dividers labeled and in this order: Calendar (on top, no divider) and

grades (notebook paper to write down grades), notes, assignments to be turned in,

 graded assignments.

There are two forms of extra credit in our class.

The first form of extra credit is tickets. If I see academic excellence,

the student may receive a ticket. A ticket may be given to a student may redeem the ticket at anytime

on any daily grade. It must be stapled to the paper in order to receive credit.

They may use the tickets one at a time, or all at

once. If the student looses the ticket it may not be redeemed or replaced.

The second is brainpop. Students may log on to www.brainpop.com. The user ID

is tucker1 and the password is gibson. Students will have a list of videos and quizzes that they may

take in order to receive extra credit. One set of videos will be available each six weeks.

Students will take the quiz following each video.

Example: If they score 7 out of 10 questions correct, they receive 7 extra credit points.

Their points add up each six weeks. Form due date will be at the top of each page.

Bonus questions will be available on the quizzes and tests occasionally.
