Can't believe it's almost Turkey Time! We are well on our way to a busy successful year. Religion - We have accomplished the Ten Commandments and seven sacraments - spelling them still is a challenge. We have finished Chapter 4 and Unit I. Reading- We have finished Unit I and are ready for the Unit test. We will do this by sections rather than all at one time. English and Writing- Buckle Up - our ELA guide has us into Unit 2 - which deals with story elements, fact or fiction, and character and setting. Their handwriting is improving and they are proud of it. Social Studies - finds us almost at the end of Chapter 2. We will be working on Chapter Review plus Unit I Review. This test won't be until another week or so. Math- Multiplication is on the daily schedule in Math. The times tables are written in our notebook and we will set a goal to memorize them for Life!! We enjoyed our All Saint's Day skit but were disappointed that Father DuBois escaped the "hot seat". Maybe another time. We are looking forward to our visit to the State Museum on Friday. Our project for Caring Kids is upon us already. I explained to the children what our part is to carry out our present for Jesus. They have written in their agenda - the gift they are to bring - labeled - i.e. "Toy - barbie doll" and "hat for a 6 year old". These gifts will be wrapped and sent to school by Dec 6th. We will fill in the information on the angels given to us by Mrs. Acemoglu. At our Christmas party we will celebrate Jesus' birthday with a cake. They will also have presents for Jesus. They will explain. Sr. Marlene 4th grade class. P.S. A reminder that Parent-Teacher conferences are November 19th.
