Raising a Bookworm Raising a Bookworm

Studies show that the more children read, the better readers and writers they become.  Parents can do a lot of things at home to encourage reading.  These include:

Creating a Literature-Rich Environment - Keep a supply of books and other reading materials at home, such as newspapers, magazines, and comic books.  They can be new or used, owned or borrowed.

Read Books With Your Children - Children of all ages appreciate being read to.

Be a Good Role-Model - Let your children see you reading!

Below are some links that you and your child can explore together.  They provide practical information for parents about helping children with reading AND fun literacy activities for kids!  Enjoy and KEEP READING!
