This week we finished our math topic on 6-10. The topic tests are graded and in folders today. It is the last math grade for this progress report term. We learned about the letter Tt and the sight word we. We learned about the five senses in unit. We had a lot of fun popping popcorn in an oil popper on Tuesday with Mrs. Hailey’s class. We got to hear, see, smell, touch, and taste it! We are now doing unit in our room except for special activities that we will do with Mrs. Hailey’s class.
Next week we will begin a math topic on Comparing Numbers. We will learn the letter Ccand its sound and sight word are. We will start talking about Pilgrims and Indians in preparation for Thanksgiving.
Flashcards need to be practiced at home. Everyone did a great job on letters and sounds but sight words are tough for lots of kids. Practice, practice, practice!
Blended words are going great. Each student has a word ring of the sight words they are able to read to me each week. I have already been through two sets of index cards! What a bunch of readers!!
Congrats to Mia and Analysia for reading another 25 books!!
