Community Service Opportunities
You don’t have to be obliged to do service for the community, to partake in community service. Community service only helps you and everyone around you. There are also scholarships that you can obtain from doing enough community service, saving money when paying for tuition in college. I know as well as my fellow seniors that you need to finish 30 community service hours in order to graduate. This cannot be from one place either it has two be at least two separate places without doing over twenty hours at one place. Also when you have finished your 30 hours you also have to go to two separate town meetings lasting an hour a piece. It is needed as a senior and a healthy way to spend some of your extra time so check out some of the places where you can serve some community service.

The Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora is a great environment for students to help out the community. There are kids at the club anywhere from kindergarten to 8th grade. This is such a great opportunity for younger students to hangout with older students. George who is in charge of the community service at the club is always looking for extra help, and he would love to have anyone from the HS come and help out. The working conditions are usually pretty laid back with an occasional snow shoveling or mopping of floors. Go to 24 Paine Street in East Aurora, or call 652-4180 to get information about your community service. This will be an amazing experience you will never forget.
