Kelly Stevenson Kelly Stevenson has been teaching at St. Francis for 13 years now, though her relationship with the school began many years earlier. She graduated from St. Francis in 1984 and went on to St. Francis High School. After that, she went to Earlham College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Biology in 1992. She furthered her biology education at U of L, from which she received an MS in Biology (and Phi Kappa Phi honors) three years later. Years spent as a student, a teaching assistant and a part-time teacher at St. Francis High School clarified what she wanted to do with her life: TEACH! In the fall of 1995, she began teaching full-time at St. Francis in Goshen. Soon after, she started working on a Masters in the Art of Teaching degree at Bellarmine University. She graduated in 2000 certified to teach Kindergarten-5th grade.
During her time at St. Francis, Kelly has taught science and Spanish at a variety of grade levels. This year, she will be teaching Spanish to some of the 6th and 8th grade Spanish students and third grade science. In addition, she will be a 7th grade advisor. She also will continue as the school's environmental curriculum coordinator. This job will see her continuing to work with the Children's Garden as well as helping coordinate the environmental mission for the whole school, including projects such as procuring a greenhouse to support our Children's Garden, continuing our recycling program, ensuring the envirnomental sustainability of our new gym and performing arts center, and researching the possibility of turning some of our land into native grasslands.
