Back to RecommendationsDistribution Amplifiers & Related Hardware
for Live TV and Computer Output

Purpose:
When using the live preview output feature of Visual Communicator, you might want to connect more than one TV set.  Plus, if you are feeding your live video signal direct into an RF modulator like we do, you still want to have a live preview TV monitor close by to look at.  To accomplish this "cloning" of the video signal, you need to use a video distribution amplifier (see below).  This device uses electricity to properly amplify then distribute the video signal, allowing multiple TV outputs simultaneously.  In plain english--this means you now have up to five TV outputs instead of just one, and all show the same image.

On a related note, you might want to have more than one computer monitor being used as a teleprompter.  In our studio setup, the newscasters have their own teleprompter monitor, while the computer operator uses a different monitor with the same exact image.  This is even more important if you have two separate rooms like we do (control room and recording studio).  For this application, you'd want a VGA Computer Distribution Amplifier (see below).

Kramer VP-400N Computer VGA Distribution Amp (1-to-4)
Kramer VS-41AV Passive Switcher (up to 4 sources)
