                                     LEAP CLASSROOM NEWS!

*Wednesday is journal writing day for all grades.

A prompt or idea is used for the writing.  Students

share what they have written unless it is a personal

 writing.

Grade 1

The first graders are reading STANLEY AND THE MAGIC LAMP

by Jeff Brown. We make a list of words to know better.

Also spelling words from the regular classroom are used in the

writing activities we do.  Thank you First Grade Teachers for

the words heads-up!

  GRADE 2

Students read from their readers and do the

questions from the book activities every

Monday and Tuesday. * Wednesday is

our journal writing day.  Thursday and

Fridays are when we will be reading

INVISIBLE STANLEY by Jeff Brown

  Be sure to check the

HOMEWORK SITE. WTG SECOND

GRADERS!

GRADE 3

These students are doing a really

good job of bringing their HOMEWORK

FOLDERS.  Excellent work on their

assignments and diligence!

As a group we are reading and

discussing the book by Deborah and

James Howe,  BUNNICULA.

Reading in a group helps with understanding

and doing great predicting activities.

*TICTACTOE homework matrices went home 11/06/09.

WTG THIRD GRADERS!

GRADE 4

The fourth graders are reading THE BFG

by Roald Dahl.

They will receive their new homework TICTACTOE

on 11/11/09.

WTG  Fourth Graders!

GRADE 5

The fifth graders are reading THREE CUPS OF TEA by

Greg Mortenson.  This book was adapted for readers in

upper elementary grades.  The Super Words-Word Find

has been added to the TICTACTOE homework sheet.

New TICTACTOE homework sheets went home 11/06/09.

Great job on your maps and quick facts on the countries

adjacent or influential in Afghanistan policies.
