Spelling Connections Spelling Connections

English can be a hard language. We have so many spelling rules that ultimately are broken. Think:  "rough" and "bought" have almost the same letters yet make completely different sounds. But that's okay. When you "make a connection" you might remember that these two words have that spelling pattern in common.  In "Making Connections" we apply grammar rules, see how rhyming gives us usually the same letter pattern, and see how prefixes and suffixes can be applied to words.   See how I "Make Connections" with the following word:
