Mrs. Winslow and Lil' Puff

Hi! My name is Mrs. Sandy Winslow. This is my first website so it may come in bits and pieces! Smile

I have taught in South Country since 1986 and have worked at Brookhaven, Kreamer St. and Verne Critz.  This is my second year at Frank P. Long. This past year I was in Cluster A teaching Reading/Writing and Social Studies.  While I loved my fellow teachers and students, "switching" classes wasn't for me. I am thrilled to be moving to 4th grade for the '09 - '10 school year.

I was born in East Northport and lived there until my family moved to Cleveland, Ohio when I was 7. When I was 11 we moved to Syracuse, NY where I graduated from high school. I have 2 older sisters who live in Florida and Syracuse with their families. My parents retired to Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

I went to Oneonta State and got my masters from Stonybrook.  My husband Steve (a Bellport graduate) and I have 3 great kids, 2 cats, and 5 chickens. My sons are twins and have just graduated from Center Moriches High School. One will attend SUNY Albany and the other SUNY Oswego.  I am very proud of them both. My daughter will be a freshman this year in high school.  That's me with "Lil' Puff" my favorite chicken in the photo at the right. She's called a Buff Orpington and likes to sit with me every night. If you'd like to read about my chickens check out the Animal page.
