School News LWPE in a glance.

Here are some things you should know for your LWP child.

• Dress Code:  Please make sure you read the required Dress Code for LWPE.  A copy of the Dress Code is available for download or printing on the Homepage.

• School hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The school provides no supervision before 8:00 a.m. or after 3:15 p.m.  Students may be dropped off between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.  Students must be picked up between 3:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

  *Please do not drop your child off before this time as there is no supervision prior to this time.  If you need to drop your child off before school starts please make arrangements for child care with the Boys and Girls Club located in the cafeteria.
• Please check the school calendar for early release days.

Take the time to read with your child during the school year. 

• If you travel, have your child research where you are going, list places of interest and facts about it, and map out the route. 
• Try using a camera to record what you are doing and create your own personal video journal using Movie Maker!  It comes free with Service Pack 2 on all PCs or iMovie for Macs.
• Want to create something interesting?  Check out Google's Sketchup!  You can create your own house or city.
• Wanting to travel the world but can't get away?  Why not see where Google Earth can take you!  The National Geographic photographs and articles will keep you busy for weeks, not to mention looking at your own house from a satellite's viewpoint!
