Personal Behavior Incentive Can you keep your ten pennies each week?

pennygold stars

You will hear your Second Grader talk about the Penny Tax.  Every Friday afternoon, each student gets paid 10 pennies.  The object is to keep those ten pennies until the next Friday.  If the student has all ten pennies, then a star will be earned.  When the student has five stars, he or she will be allowed to get a prize from the prize box.  The students will create many of the taxes themselves based on their Classroom Rules.

Often the children will create another tax when they notice behaviors that interfere with the learning process.  The children rarely argue about the tax and often offer to pay before Mrs. Schading says a word.
