Extra Credit Guidelines

Here are guidelines for Extra Credit. They are also on the syllabus.

  • Extra Credit: Homework and SAR: A student may do an extra credit assignment if she/he has not missed more than one homework assignment during the quarter. The student may do an additional SAR to make up for the missed homework. If a student missed handing in an SAR, she/he may write 3 SARs ( 8 points each) to make up for the missed SAR.

  • Extra Credit: Test: If a student does poorly on a test, she/he may do extra credit which relates to the concepts/questions missed on the test. In this case, what the actual extra credit will be is up to the student. It may be additional text questions or a creative project that relates to the missed concepts. Point worth will vary. A student may not do an additional SAR for missed concepts on a test.

  • Extra Credit on Edline: Each quarter I will post an assignment column labeled "Extra Credit" or "E.C." with a point worth of zero. Extra credit is optional and the grade averages of students not doing E.C. will not be affected by this assignment column.

  • All work should be handed in on time, except in the case of absence.
