November 9- 13
Our class will be learning about the celebration of Veteran's Day. The children will be learning about the sacrifice of military families today and long ago.
November 2-5
We are just beginning our investigation of Native American cultures and art in readiness for our field trip to the Berkshire Museum.
October 26 -30
Our class will be busy practicing our parts for the Halloween Big Boo Revue. We are still investigating the interesting and unique features of pumpkins.
October 19-23 We are exploring trees and leaves in and around Genet School. Children are identifying trees based on their bark and leaves. The children enjoy reading books about fall and seasonal changes. They can't say enough about how much their trees at home and at school mean to them.
October 12 - 16 We are having a great time learning about the explorer Christopher Columbus. They are learning rhymes and chants to help them remember important historical dates.
October 5-9
Our class spent the week reading books and learning poems,chants, songs and rhymes to help us remember important fire safety rules. We have practiced lots of fire drills at school. We met the East Greenbush Firefighters. Firefighter Ron, Cara's dad reminded us to practice our drills at home, choose a meeting spot, check our smoke alarm batteries and always be prepared. The children loved going on the fire truck and ringing the bell.
September 8-11
We are busy learning about our classroom and getting to know our new friends in First Grade. The children are learning to read rhymes and songs.
