Nightly Homework

Homework Please take a minute to check over your child's homework. I encourage you to save the unit letter that is sent home at the beginning of each unit. I ask that a parent initial under the day of the week to indicate that you checked your child's work. HOMEWORK ANNOUNCEMENT: Certain items from home may be needed to complete some homework assignments. Please send in a note if your child was unable to complete a homework assignment because of this. Alternate arrangements can and will be made if that is the case! 2/13 Reading/Phonic: Read, complete title and minute info. Worksheet. (Draw pictures to match the sentences.) Math: Home Link 6.8 Spelling: Write words 2 times each. Word Wall Words: Practice new and old words. Religion: Study for Chapter 11 test on Th.ursday, 2/16 2/14 Happy Valentines Day! No Written Home Work! Spend the time with someone you LOVE! Don't forget to study Spelling and Religion! 2/15 Reading/Phonics: Read, complete title and minute info. Sort the words and put them in the correct place. Math: Home Link 6.9 Spelling: Write sentences using Rainbow words. Religion: Study Chapter 11 for test tomorrow! 2/16 Reading/Phonics: Read, complete title and minute info. Cloze sentences...Finish story! Math: Home Link 6.10 Spelling: Study for tomorrow's test. 2/17 No Homework! Have a nice break! Your child willringing his/her homework folder home each day. He/She should complete the daily assignment. Once you've checked his/her work.... please read, sign and return the folder on the following school day. Reading: One of the most important parts of homework in first grade is each student needs to read for 15 minutes daily each month. Choose books for your child that they can succeed with but also challenge them. Books that have the sight words used for the week, or spelling words, are ideal. Math: The children will be having Math homework Mon. thru Thurs. Homework is expected to be returned the next day. If a student does not return the homework, a parent is expected to contact me in regards to the reason, on the day that it is due.
