6th Grade Social Studies

• During the year, we will be covering human history through early civilizations and cultures.

• The time period we cover ranges from 10 million years ago to around 1700 AD.

• We cover ancient cultures and time periods like the Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Age of Discovery, as well as learning about the major religions of the world and their historical impact in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

• We will be participating in geography activities, note taking (using the outline form), quizzes, simulations, tests, essays, and projects throughout the year.

Expectations:

I expect all students to follow the guidelines expressed in the student handbook as well as being prepared for class, following the directions, and taking all assignments/projects seriously.
