Welcome to the Saint Mary's Institute Computer Room Blogs. We are blogging about Future City, Math web sites, TechYes and Remembering Good Times at SMI. What do you have to say?
- Future City Club
The Future City Competition has been a challenging club and competition for 7th & 8th graders for several years. Saint Mary's Institute is the only Capital District team that has been part of this compition since the very first one at RPI in 2002. Students design a city of the future in SimCity3000 software, write two essays, learn about engineering, build a scale model of part of their city, and present in front of a panel of engineers. The SMI team has won 2nd place twice, third place and fifth place.
- Good Times
Let's collect some stories of good times at Saint Mary's Institute. What do you want to remember forever?
- Math On-Line
This blog is meant to help identify favorite math related web pages, fun ways to learn math while playing games or tutorial type webpages that help you figure out how to do different kinds of math problems.
- TechYes
If in September 2008, you are a 7th or 8th grader at SMI, you will be part of the TechYes Technology Literacy Certification program. You will also design and complete two projects on any topic, using any technology that meets the criteria for TechYes. Check out the web page www.techyes.net and see what you think.
