I have a standing extra credit assignment. You may do a book report for extra credit, which will count as a test grade and be averaged in with the others at the end of the quarter. Here's the details: book- you may pick any book, factual or fiction. It must be approved by me before you start reading it. It must be at or above your reading level, no "Golden books" from your little brothers' or sisters' collections! The book may be about almost anything, but there should be some science link to the science. Remember, there are many type of sciences! paper- must be typed out and no less than two full pages, regular type size and normal border sizes. If your paper is not at least two full pages, I will not accept it! content-A) you will give an accurate and interesting summary of the book. B) Then you will discuss, in a few paragraphs, how some branch or branches of science are used in your book. Keep this in mind- you may use "social sciences" (sociology, psychology, etc.) as well as examples of sports medicine, forensic sciences, nutrition, etc. This is a vital part of your report, so don't forget it, or your entire paper is unacceptable! C) Tell me if you liked the book, and if you did, who you would recommend it to (teens, boys, adults, anyone, this kind of thing).
