FRANCE 2010TRIP |
|
|
From March 27 - April 7, 2010, we will be exploring France. Beginning in Paris, we will experience the culture and life of the the city's districts, and will travel to both Versailles and Chartres Cathedral. Optional day trips to Normandy or Champagne will also be available on our free day in Paris. From Paris, we will be traveling by rail to the small town of Rocamadour, a Medieval town built into the side of a cliff overlooking the river below (very similar to Ronda in Spain). By way of Toulouse, we will make our way to the legendary city of Carcassonne, a World Heritage City, featuring an intact walled Medieval city and castle. We will be staying behind the walls, and experiencing both Good Friday and Easter Sunday services in the historic cathedral located next to our hotel. The trip will conclude with a stay in Nice (via the Roman city of Nimes). Our hotel in Nice sits half a mile from the sea and will be a time to relax and experience the French Riviera. For those wishing to explore the area, we will have included trips to the hillside of Eze and the principality of Monaco. For those wishing instead to plant themselves at the beach or shop the boutiques of Nice, the schedule will be completely flexible to meet your mood.
