The transition from 5th grade to 6th can be scary and different. There are many classroom changes, new teachers, and the classes get harder as students prepare for the next HUGE transition into 7th grade! I have searched for materials and resources that may make 6th grade a little easier. The links and resources below have been provided to help review, prepare, and strengthen skills in some of the general areas students may have difficulty with in 6th grade. To the left you will find links to the three individual 6th grade classrooms. There you will find resources and links to areas taught within that classroom. To the right you will find links to 6th grade teachers' classroom websites.
Learning Planet
This website link will take you to a site filled with a variety of games and learning tools. Math (grades 4-6) will be your starting place but feel free to enjoy other places as well!
Iowa History: Iowa Pathways
This website will be very helpful as 6th grade begins their Iowa History portion of the year in Social Studies.
Reading Program Resources
You may have to sign in for the free resources, available on this site, that go along with the 6th grade reading book stories.
