Speak is about a girl named Melinda.  All her friends from the previous year hate her because she called the cops at a party.  She has no one to talk to that will actually listen and finds herself friendless and alone.  Melinda doesn't tell anyone at first what really happened to her at the party and why she called the cops.  She begins to talk to a teacher and begins to work through her problems.

3.      Describe the text. Does it flow well? Is it engaging; does it hold your attention? Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

The story is told from Melinda's point of view.  It's written well and makes sense.  The characters are interesting in a way but nothing amazing or anything.

4.      What did you especially enjoy about this book? Would you recommend it to a friend? Why or why not?

I really liked how the author put the story together.  I would recommend it to a friend because it is one of my favorites.  I also think it's a great book.

A boy named Crispin is accused of a theft he did not commit.  He fled from his homeland and found a man named Bear.  Bear offered Crispin protection only if he would be his apprentice.  They agreed.  Only then did Crispin know his real identity, which was kept a secret from him.  His searchers now arrived to where they were hiding.  Will they find him?

3.      Describe the writing style.  Does it hold your attention? Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

Yes, the text flows together in chronological order in a smooth way.  It is engaging because it contains many adjectives, creating suspense and describing things well.  The characters are interesting because each have different personalities, some being honest while others are not.

4.      What did you especially enjoy about this book? Would you recommend it to a friend? Why or why not?

I enjoyed this book because it has lots of adventure and is very suspenseful.  I would recommend it to a friend.

David, a fifteen year old boy from New York living in Minnesota, as a life of defects.  when he is sent to a school with other people like him, he meets Cheetah, a girl with her own defect.  As David keeps trying to keep his gift a secret he discovers a stunning revelation about his mother, his gift, the people, and himself.

3.      Describe the writing style.  Does it hold your attention? Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

The text flows like a river, keeping a sequence of events.  David's gift kept me entertained and reading.  I wish there was a seqel

 4.      What did you especially enjoy about this book? Would you recommend it to a friend? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the methods of the book to keep my attention.  I would also recommned this book to people who want to further understand their own gifts.

Cindy Ella Gold is the weirdest kid in her LA private school.  She is against prom.  Cindy, in dealing with the trauma, decides she needs an older man instead of her crush, a senior named Adam Silver.  Things go up then down then every which way!  It's adorable!

3.      Describe the writing style.  Does it hold your attention? Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

The story is in her perspective and really easy to just keep reading.  Cindy is so normal in an abnormal place that it just brings a smile to your face when she tries to understand people.

4.      What did you especially enjoy about this book? Would you recommend it to a friend? Why or why not?

I love how this book is so engaging.  I usually don't like cliche, but this one is perfect.
