Lina and Doon trade their jobs for the one they want.  The city is losing power, it's light and all the food.  Doon wants to fix the city, Lina wants to find the city she has been dreaming of.  They team up to solve a puzzle that might save them and lead them out of Ember.


3.  Describe the text.  Is it interesting and does it hold your attention?  Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

The story is very interesting.  The plot is very well put together.  Will the generator go out and will Ember be plunged into darkness?  Will everyone make it out?  Each of the characters has their own story.  Lina is an orphan and Doon wants to help.


4.  What did you especially enjoy about this book?  Would you recommend it to a friend?  Why or why not?

I enjoyed the whole concept of the mystery part.  Will they get out?  What is in the Unknown Regions?  Will the mayor get caught?  Yes, I would certainly recommend it to a friend, because it is a fun and thrilling book.

Jack Swift is a normal boy who has to take daily medicine.  At least that's what he thought.  Jack is actually a Warrior of the White Rose who needs to train for the Game.  A game where he fights to the death.  What happens?  Read to find out!

3.      Describe the text.  Does it hold your attention? Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

The text flow well and if you get into it, it should grab your attention.  Jack is an interesting character because he's a wizard and a warrior.

4.      What did you especially enjoy about this book? Would you recommend it to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend it because it's a nice book that's good for anytime reading.

This book is about a young man that was drafted into the U.S. Army in the 1960's to fight in the Vietnam War.  Once there he met friends he would never lose, that is if they survived.  He and his platoon marched all over Vietnam fighting the Viet-Cong.  When he comes home America is a completely different place than before he left it.

3.      Describe the text. Does it flow well? Is it engaging; does it hold your attention? Are the characters (if applicable) interesting?

The action-packed text really keeps your attention throughout the entire book.  The main character is named Ritchie Perry, and he has to learn how to survive in a hostile country.  He also has to learn to get along with everyone in his platoon, and somehow make it home alive.

4.      What did you especially enjoy about this book? Would you recommend it to a friend? Why or why not?

I really enjoyed this book because it was about the Vietnam War.  I would recommend this book to a friend because it's a great read.

Harry would be starting his 7th year at Hogwarts, but there is something foul in the air.  So Harry bands together with Ron and Hermione, only this time there is a new threat.  There are 3 hallows, thought to be legend, but Harry already has 2 hallows. He must find the last hallow.  But can he win the last fight with Voldemort?

It fits together like a chain.  It always keeps my attention.

It is a very good and interesting book.
