 Program Component

Central to the concept of the PLC is that instruction is presented on an individual basis. It is an accelerated self-paced program. Students are presented material at their own level and teachers closely monitor student achievement to ensure that all students are working to the best of their ability.

A learning style inventory is used for each student and the curriculum is either modified or enhanced to meet the unique needs of each individual student. The curriculum has been designed by the content teacher and is based on the TEKS as well as the district's curriculum requirements (SISDEKS). A TAKS preparation and remedial course is also part of the curriculum. The PLC also requires the satisfactory completion of an advisory component.
