This week in school--

Our story this week was Frogs. We practiced telling the difference between facts and opinions. We compared and contrasted toads and frogs.  Our spelling words were ou words spelled with ow or ou.

In math, we are finishing up two digit addition with regrouping. We should continue to practice our subtraction and addition flashcards since we will have both types of timed tests in the third and fourth marking periods.

We are learning about adjectives in grammar. We are using our five senses to help us think of words to describe nouns.

A LOOK Ahead---

Next week our spelling words will be oi words spelled with oi or oy.  Our story will be I Like Where I Am. It is a fiction story about a boy who does not want to move. We will continue and complete our two digit addition chapter in math and take our  test. We will continue subtraction and addition flashcard tests next week. 

REMINDERS-

*Monday,  February 6, is the 100th day of school. Don't forget to bring in your collection of 100 things!

*You can bring in your valentines to deliver anytime from Monday, Feb. 6-Tuesday, Feb. 14.

*Pizza Hut book-it is going on. Return the log sheets at the end of each month(or sooner if you read on the weekend!) to obtain your free personal pan pizza certificate!

*The PTO will kick off its spring fundraiser on Feb. 3. The sale will continue through Feb. 21.

*February book orders will be sent home next week.  Our online class code is GZC3Y. Orders re due by Mon. Feb. 13.

*Don't forget to EMPTY and SIGN the Friday envelope, and return it with your child on Monday. 

*Just a reminder that you can keep track of our 6 day cycle and other reminders on the rm. 211 calendar on this website, and you can double check what your child has for homework on the What's for homework tonight?  page on this site.

Next week begins with cycle day 4. We have Gym.
