Heil's Happenings for the week of: November 2-6, 2009 This week we read our story, Ronald Morgan Goes to Bat,in reading. It was about a boy who plays baseball that has great team spirit, bu tis afraid of the ball when he is batting . Our spelling list was contractions. We learned that a proper noun is the name of a certain person, place, animal, or thing. In math we learned about tally tables, pictographs, and how to interpret data on a graph. In our science unit, we are learning about the water cycle and how wind and water change things on earth. Next week, our story is called Turtle's Race with Beaver. It is a story that uses animals to teach children a lesson about something. Our spelling words will practice er,ir, and ur words. We will take our graphing test in math and begin subtraction practice as well. We will continue addition timed tests to get even more speedy with our addition fact recall, but we will soon begin subtraction timed tests. PARENT NEWS- *Friday envelopes were sent home today.
