Spelling: (See spelling tab for downloadable lists) - Spelling List: Theme 1 Review List
- Study spelling words every week.
- A suggestion would be to give your child a pre-test on Monday to determine the words that they need to focus on the most during the week.

Language Arts: Students will....
- Identify elements of a poem (stanzas, rhyme, rhythm, repetition)
- Use text features to understand non-fiction text.
- Identify words with the same vowel sounds.
- Identity means of homophones in sentences.
- Use context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words.
Writing: - Write to express personal ideas.
- Edit and revise own writing for details and mechanics.
Math: The students will... - Add three-addends using one or two-digit numbers.
- Make number sentences true.
- Complete tables using patterns.
- Review skills and concepts for the Unit 1 Assessment.
- Take Unit 1 Assessment- Friday
Science: Insects
- We are raising a variety of insects for our insect unit.
- Observe the structure and behavior of mealworms and Painted Lady butterflies.
Social Studies: - Identify leaders in leadership positions within our school and country.
- Compare school leadership roles with our country's leadership roles.
