East Greenbush Friends of Music

East Greenbush Friends of Music (FOM) is a volunteer organization dedicated to fostering and enhancing the music education, performance ability and musical appreciation of all students of the East Greenbush Central School District.  We rely on the generosity of the community and parents of our students.  We raise funds through annual membership dues and various fundraising activities. We wish to provide support to our students at all levels of their musical training, from elementary school where they sing their first notes and select their initial instruments, to middle school where they make amazing strides in improving their musical skills, to high school where they can audition for various elite musical ensembles like jazz band, symphonic band and chamber singers.

Each year, Friends of Music funds the NYSSMA Solo/Ensemble Medals for participating students. This school year, Friends of Music will fund the Music Department Awards presented to 8th and 12th Graders. Friends of Music will also provide $250 Music Enrichment awards to two graduating high school seniors and $75 Summer Music Study Scholarships to qualifying Middle School students.

FOM has provided funds to bring guest artists to our students and provided mini grants to our teachers to support projects outside the mandated curricular areas, yet very important to a quality music education program. We cannot do it without your support. Your support and ideas are needed to enhance all areas of the district music program and to provide an awareness and appreciation of the musical arts throughout the community.

    Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month and begin @ 7 PM

       All Friends of Music meetings are held at the Howard L. Goff Middle School
