Room 2 Hounds are you ready for some homework? Look for the homework packet going home this Monday. There will be the monthly reading log, 3 math worksheets, spelling list and flash cards, writing topics paper, and the writing journal (the word wall needs to stay at home). Any questions contact me! Don't forget to turn the packet in by Friday. Parent-Teacher Conferences Parent-Teacher conferences will be held from Monday, November 16 to Friday, November 20. Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm on each day. Parents should have received a sign up sheet. Please pick your top three choices for times. Each conference will last about 25 minutes so please be on time. check the front door of Room 2 for an updated tenative schedule. If I don't hear from you by Friday I will assign you a conference time. Final confirmation will be sent out this Friday. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unhappy with your Child's School Pictures?
Friday, November 13th is Picture RETAKE day. If you are unhappy with your child's pictures, send in your old pictures and let me know and we'll have them retaken. Thanks!
Veteran's Day
 Wednesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day and there is NO SCHOOL in honor of all those who have graciously served our country. Please take a moment to think and reflect on those who have given so much so that we can live free. Jog A Thon  Get your jogging shoes out because our school Jog A Thon is coming up on Wednesday, November 18th!

Johnathan Rand is the author of over 60 books with over 4 million copies in print, including the American Chillers, Michigan Chillers and Freddie Fernorter, Fearless First Grader series! He will be visiting Hearst on Wednesday, November 4th. If you  would like an autographed copy of one or more of his books, please fill out the form that was sent home and send in payment. Orders are due on the day of Mr. Rand's visit. He will also be at Yellow Book Road on 11/11 at 3 p.m.

 HELP!!! We have a LARGE NEED for parents to sign up to teach the Art Corps lessons! They are easy lessons and we can get other parents to come in our room to help support you! Please help -- this is an AMAZING program that cannot happen without YOU!!  Volunteering Information We'd LOVE for you to volunteer in our classroom this year and can't wait to get the whole process rolling! Before you can start, however, the school district is requiring volunteers who will be working directly with students, to complete an application, a TB test, and fill out a Criminal Background Form which will be sent away for screening. This MUST be done before you are able to work with students, help during Art Corps, or even drive on field trips. If you're not sure if you will volunteer, but think that there could be a small chance that you may be able to help, please fill out the papers. The office has all of the information you need - just stop by and they will give the papers to you to complete. Blue communication folders were sent home. Please make sure you return these folders back to class each day. We will use these as the homework folder as well. Please make sure that you have turned in all of the district paperwork as well.
Hearst Student Store Did you know that the Hearst Student Council now has their own store? It is located outside of Mr. Zarro's office during recess on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Items for sale (currently) are pencils, erasers, paper, staplers, water, snacks, etc. Items range in price from $0.25 to $3.00. More items will be for sale as time goes on. If you are interested, bring your change and get the supplies you need!
