PHYSICAL EDUCATION IS GREAT!

In kindergarten, and all the other grades in our district, nothing is more important than getting the kids' hearts pumping with exciting activities.  It's a proven fact that taking time to get moving during the day actually helps children to concentrate better in school. 

In my classes, we have three phases of activities in physical education:

1.  stretching - Nothing is worse than an injury that could have been prevented.  We always begin each class with a variety of stretching activities.

2.  cardiovascular exercise:  Getting the heart pumping is the name of this game.  This slot of activities is designed to have the students run, skip, and gallop their way to raise that heart rate for a heathy and happy child.

3.  developmental games:  These games are designed to motivate the children to move and be active.   They vary from parachute play to Dance,Dance Revolution. Our school is very lucky to have an abundance of equipment for the students to use for physical activities.

DON'T FORGET TO WEAR SNEAKERS!

If your child does not wear sneakers, school regulations prohibit students from participating in activities in which they might fall.  All kindergarten classes have physical education on Day 1, 2, or 3.  Please make sure to check your child's special times through their homeroom teacher and make sure you keep track of the school days!

Sneakers are defined as any athletic shoe with rubber soles and some way, laces or Velcro, to keep them attached to the foot.
