Weekly Format:
Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday:   These three days are typically lecture times where the teacher covers materials following the textbook outline.

Thursday:   Labs and/or supporting activities are usually scheduled this day.

Friday:   At the end of the week, we often depart from the current topic, and update ourselves with science from either history or currently in the news.  Students give topical presentations to the class, and/or we develop our listening skills by monitoring a radio science magazine broadcast such as the CBC's "Quirks & Quarks."  These activities expose students to a breadth of science topics and professional career opportunities.

Grading Style:
Objective:  Pop-quizes, chapter tests, and final exams.  We "trade-and-grade" papers during class.

Subjective:
Homework, lab sheets, pod assignments, and presentations.  I do not grade homework and labs against an answer key.  Students are graded based on thoughtful completion of the work, and whether or not instructions and processes were followed.
