Writing Standards

Writing Information:

All Georiga 5th graders will take the state writing test in the spring.  While we will be working on stories in class through out the year to prepare, you can also help your child at home by viewing the following website. 

Directions for navigating the DOE website to locate more writing prompts:

1) Go to www.doe.k12.ga.us

2) At the top of page, you will see a series of tabs.  Under
the "Curriculum" tab, select "Testing."

3) Scroll down to the middle of this page.  Click on "Writing Assessments."

4) Scroll down to the bottom of this page, and select the appropriate grade
level (3, 5, 8 or 11).

5) Toward the top of this page, on the right, you will see a table
titled "Grade (3, 5, 8 or 11) Resources."  Under this table, click
the "More" tab.  This will open up a menu of options, including access to
publically-released prompts.
