Getting to know Mrs. Chandler

Welcome to Kindergarten--All Day ! ! ! ! I am Sandy Chandler, and I look forward getting to know you. I have lived in Oklahoma all my life and in Owasso since 1978. My husband and I have been in education all our careers and know the importance of learning while having fun. This is my 33rd year of teaching. I teach because I LOVE it. I am a highly qualified teacher by the state of Oklahoma and have Early Childhood and Elementary Certification. Teaching kindergarten was the goal in my life, however, my first school only had a First grade opening---so I took it. I taught First grade 9 years, before the Kdg. teacher moved. I then taught Kdg. for 4 years there in Sperry. I moved to Smith to teach Kdg. for one year, before Transitonal First opened and I taught that for 18 years. I am thrilled to come back to my first love of teaching--to Kindergarten. In my personal life, I have 2 married daughters--one couple roots for OU and the other for OSU. I am a Nana to Abby Grace, my precious granddaughter who I celebrate her every small ability--for she is a "special needs" child. When I am not traveling to OKC or Houston to visit family, I am scrapbooking, or counting down to Christmas. I have a snowman ornament collection for my tree. I am always looking for that next one.
