About Me

I have been teaching for 19 years, mostly in public school. The four years I have been at John Paul II have been the most rewarding in my career, mainly because of the faith component. I am so grateful to be able to praise God on a daily basis in my classroom. I was also fortunate enough to win the Grand Heart at Work award my second year at JPII. I attended Texas Tech University, and later graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin. My bachelor degree is in Psychology, with a minor in biology. I used to teach both subjects at John Paul II, however this year, I am just teaching biology. My certification is also in both subjects. Teaching is my second career. I was fortunate enough to be able to work as a mental health counselor/psychotherapist for 6 years before becoming a teacher. My specialty was dealing with acute (short term) mental health cases, and sexual abuse. I have a 16 year old son who is the main focus and joy of my life. I also have two wonderful, stress relieving dogs, a Shi Tzu named Chalie, and a 5 yr. old boxer, Hercules. (not so stress relieving....)I have been very blessed with a wonderful family. I am excited and looking forward to this school year. "Seek to Serve"!
