It's All About Me...Don't You Love It?
I thought it would be helpful for you to get to know a little about me...well, maybe a little more than you already know. I have been in teaching for a long, long, long, long, long time...and all of it has been in Catholic schools. I began teaching grades 5-8 at St. Stephen Catholic School in Detroit. After three years, it was time to move on to St. Mary Catholic School where I began teaching grades 7-9. Eventually the ninth grade closed and I became the eight grade homeroom teacher. I've been teaching middle school students ever since and I L-O-V-E IT ! My educational background is well suited to what I do. I received a Bachelor of Science, cum Laude (wow, with honors...I must be smart) from Eastern Michigan University, as well as my Master of Art in middle school education. I am a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society and have been listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" numerous times. This honor is especially meaningful because it comes from the nominations of former students. I have also been recognized three times ( most recently on Feb 2, 2012) for the Divine Child High School Gold Star Award. Students from Divine Child High School were asked to nominate an exceptional educator who was a major influence in helping them become a successful high school student. This award was truly a great honor for me. I also received my Religious Education Certification from the Archdiocese of Detroit. I really do not like talking about myself, so it's time to move on to other more interesting areas of my website.
