Qur'an - We are focusing on the reading of Qur'an with the correct pronunciation and recitation.  We are also focused on understanding what we read.  To help with this, I give vocabulary for each surah, then test students.

Islamic Studies - We are using the textbook 'I Love Islam' along with other resources for increased understanding. We are also focused on the authentic aqidah and Islamic values so students are provided with hadith and duas regularly.

    One of my key goals is to help students understand and appreciate the lives of the sahabah.  In order to achieve this, I have begun assigning research projects.  Students have completed research on Abu Bakr Siddiqq and Khadijah bint Khuwaild.  These projects were presented during the Arabic Restaurant program.  Third graders will research and present projects on Aiesha and Umar ibn Khattab in January.

    Students performed Hajj in November.  They learned the steps of the Hajj, then simulated its actions at school. They enjoyed the program very much, as well as attained knowledge.

    We will have a workshop about the Hijjrah of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) after the break.
