What kind of learner am I? What kind of learner am I?

Learning styles and Adaptations to meet the needs of ALL learners

Present all new information through multisensory instruction.

It is important to know what kind of learner your child/student is.

Visual Learners

The visual learner learns best when they can visualize or see the concept being introduced.  Use maps, graphs, pictures, media, overheads, various colored chalk or markers.  Point to highlight important information.  Use graphic organizers for writing assignments.

Auditory Learners

The auditory learner learns best when they can hear the information.  They benefit most when information is read aloud, or paraphrased.  Use music or rhythm and melody.  Books on tapes are great for this kind of learner.  Let them listen while they read along silently.

Tactile/Kinesthetic Learners

Kinesthetic learners learn best through movement and touch.  Provide many hands-on experiences for this student.  They learn through role playing, dance, and movement.  Use computer games.  Let them stand or move while they are working.
