Students should work on their homework daily in reading, math and spelling.

Homework will be given on the first day of the week and is to be turned in on Mondays.  I will be giving homework as a package so that you and your child have the option of when it is done as I know that sometimes schedules will conflict with time at home. 

Reading is part of their daily homework. They should be reading 20 minutes daily! Please see the additional information page for ways to improve your child's comprehension.  

There will a spelling test every week.  They will study their words inside their composition notebooks. They must do a different activity 3 times a week. Activities are listed on the web-site under homework calendar.

Vocabulary test will be given every other week.  This allows your child time to understand and use the words before their tests.  They should recognize the words and be able to use them in sentences that are different than the sentences used in class.

Please, at anytime, if you are confused do not hesitate to e-mail or call the office.  Once we   have done it a few times, it will be routine for the students and they will   know exactly what is expected of them.
