Homework – October 12 - 16 Reading - Please begin having your child read a minimum of 20 minutes daily. This is VERY IMPORTANT as I need the support of the parents so that your child becomes a better reader. Your child’s homework reading score is based on your child’s turned in reading times. 20 minutes daily is 100 points. 10 minutes daily – 87. A mixture of time or missing days that does not equal the 100 minutes of outside reading is graded according to the total minutes read. Your child will not have a guided reading test this week. Math – We have begun place value up to 999. Worksheets are 4.2 – 4.5. Remember, your child can get up to 100 points for correct and completed homework assignments. Spelling – Practice the spelling words and the patterns for a pre-test on Friday. Your child has also self-selected 7 words that they would like to learn to spell. Vocabulary – I have attached a copy of our vocabulary words that we will be working for the next two weeks. Encourage your child to use the words at home. They will be expected to be able to spell the words and know the definitions to the words. Your child will have the words at school, at home and on the internet so that they are easy access to them. I am out for the week, but will return on Monday, October 19, 2009. Ms. Nabeela will be working with the class. She is very capable and has worked with our class since school started. I will have limited access to the internet while I am gone this week. Remember to keep track of your reading!
