Prior to teaching at APA, I worked in Round Rock ISD & Leander ISD. I graduated from Texas State University in May of 2005 with a BAAS. I received my certification in May 2006 in Elementary Education with a specialization in early childhood. In 2009, I added to my certification which includes ESL, Gifted and Talented, Special Education EC-12 and Generalist EC-6. I recently had my certification renewed in October 2010. Teaching is not just a career; it is my passion. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has an exciting and safe learning experience in the classroom. My husband, Ray and I have lived in Leander, Texas for the past nineteen years. I have three children Tammy, Joshua, and Daniel. I also have two dogs named Maggie and Boomer. When I am not working with your child, I enjoy reading, camping and working in my garden. I love to shop at Target, Macy's, and of course teacher friendly stores. Some of my favorite places to eat are Chili's and Cafe Serrano's or enjoying a much needed Starbucks. Finally, I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach your child. It is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I have very high expectations of my students and myself. This in turn, promotes both academic and personal achievement.
