Click on the left to see photos of the ATT Classroom at KSU We visit KSU each day from 1:20-3:00 Sept. 12th- Oct. 21st. What we worked on the week of September 12th: Monday: Students were introduced to the computer program PhotoStory, where they imported photos, added text, music and voice-overs. The class then toured the PortaPortal site, where many of the links we will be using over the next few weeks are found. Tuesday: Using our spelling list, students edited their PhotoStory and added words containing our spelling rule (suffixes). We shared many of the final products on the SmartBoard. Students were introduced to Google Earth by one of the staff members. We located Echo Hills, their individual homes and larger cities located in Ohio. Wednesday: We received our iPod Touch handhelds today!! Students worked with the apps relating to maps, Google Earth and math fact practice. Using My PortaPortal, students used links to larger cities in Ohio. After reading information about these cities, students created a Word Document to summarize those facts that were found the most interesting. We plan to create a Google Earth project, where students narrate the facts and save the info so that when they click on a location, you can hear all about that specific city! Thursday: We continued to work on our "Cities" activity today. After, students watched a Weather Forecast on the SmartBoard. We then checked Stow's weather on WeatherChannel.com. After discussing pressure, wind speed, temperature and weather systems, students began creating their own 5 Day Forecast on the same web site. As students are finishing, they are typing a weather forecast paragraph that correlates with their visual 5 Day Forecast for Weather Center 9! Friday Students continued to work on their 5 day forcast and speeches. We are excited to video these next week! Most of the students are done with their 4 cities research today!!
