Band Parent Information Sheets

Dear H.S./M.S. Music Parents,

I am delighted that your child has expressed interest in participating in the performing arts at Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School and Middle School. Below are a few forms explaining what is expected of each student in the band program at Bern-Knox -Westerlo Central School District.

I have also included a grading rubric so that you may see how your child's overall band grade is determined. Since this is a semester course (meeting every other day for the entire year) a numerical grade is given at the end of the 2nd and 4th marking periods only. A pass/fail is given at the end of marking periods 1 and 3. Therefore, this rubric is twice during the school year; once in the middle and once at the end.
