Instructor Biographies

Instructors: Captain Robert W. Fiore, Senior Aerospace Science Instructor

Captain Fiore retired from the Air Force with 22 years of service as an 

Aircraft Maintenance Officer.  He is a graduate of the University of the 

State of New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.  

Captain Fiore is also a graduate of the United States Air Force (USAF) Non-

Commissioned Officer Academy, USAF Air University's Officers Training School 

(OTS), Squadron Officers School(SOS), Air Command and Staff College (ACSC)

and AFJROTC Instructor School for his JROTC Teaching Certification.  

He is still active in military service to the United States and the State of 

Texas as a Colonel in the Texas State Guard and the  

Commander of the 5th Air Wing, Camp Mabry, Austin. 

Captain Fiore has 6 years experience instructing Air Force Junior ROTC at Lockhart.

Captain Fiore was a Distinguished Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor  for 2007-2008, 2008-2009.

Master Sergeant  Mario C. Silva, Aerospace Science Instructor 

Master Sergeant Silva retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service.  

He is a graduate of the USAF Non-Commissioned Officer Academy.  He holds two 

Associate in Applied Science degrees, one from Palo Alto College 

(California) in Psychology and a degree in Aircraft Maintenance and 

Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.  Also, MSgt Silva 

has a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Management from 

Fort Hays State University, Kansas. 

Master Sergeant Silva has 15 years experience, instructing Air Force Junior ROTC.

He had been an Air Force Junior ROTC Distinguished Instructor for the past four years

2005-2006.
