You may have already heard my news... it is true! I will not be teaching at Spring Hill next year. I am moving to Dorris McQueen. I will miss ALL of my former students, parents, and my wonderful coworkers. To parents, Thank you for all your help and support this year. We have had a very successful year of learning and fun. Even when we have had a problem, positive communication has made it all work. Your child's success is a tribute to your willingness work together to ensure the best educational situation for your child. That is why I love SHIS, we have the best parents EVER! A special "Woo Hoo" to Mrs. Buck and Mrs. Malone! You two have been fantastic this year! Yea for Spring Hill Intermediate UIL team! We one first place in our first UIL meet Tuesday! Great job!
Have a WONDERFUL SUMMER! I will miss each one of you, be safe and READ some books this summer! Send and e-mail sometime, I would love to hear from you (canter@springhill.esc7.net). If you have any questions about our site please contact me @ canter@springhill.esc7.net.

Dear Parents and Students, Welcome to Third Grade! I am looking forward to a year of growing and learning with your child. I hope to encourage each child not only to learn but enjoy the process of learning. I strive to make my classroom a relaxed and creative environment in which to learn. I believe that every child has the right to a quality education. Third grade students are a delight to teach. It is a big growth year physically and emotionally, as well as educationally. This year you will have two teachers! Mrs. Jones and I will teach together. Mrs. Jones will teach Math, Science, and Social Studies. I will be teaching Reading, English, Spelling, and handwriting. I love to teach the Reading/Language Arts block. I believe that team teaching allows me to focus more closely on a specific curriculum area. Reading is a vital skill for success in school as well as in life. One special activity that is a favorite of my students is Reader’s Theater. Studies show that the use of Readers theater builds fluency, which is the core of success in reading. This year your child will have experiences with: cursive writing, multiplication and division, Junior Achievement, Flat Stanley, Junior League Play, Owl Pellet Dissection, The Egg to Chick Project, and many many more. This should be a wonderful year for all of us. If you have any questions of special concerns please do not hesitate to contact me! IM – Canter3rd E-Mail – canter@springhill.esc7.net
