4th Grade Recorder Class

Welcome to the 2009-10 school year. We will be handing out the recorders, sheet music, and books this week. Each student will receive two recorders. They are to take one home and leave one at school. The recorders have been washed once but you should wash them again before you play on them. If you have a dish washer you may wash them in the dishwasher as long as you use warm, not hot, wash and rinse cycle. You may also hand wash them with warm water and liquid dish washing soap. You can take the recorder apart. Hand wash each part and then rinse with warm water until the soap is all gone.

You will need a folder to keep your music in and you will need to bring that folder and a pencil to class each day.

Until the elementary music room is finished we will meet in the High School Band Hall. I will pick you up at the elementary school and walk you to the high school.

We are now meeting in the Elementary/Junior High Band Hall. We will be getting some new items soon. Students will be getting belts to put on their recorders when the pass off the various belts and we will be getting new books so that they can leave one book at school and another at home. I hope we will also be able to buy new recorders as these have been used for a couple of years. However, the books and the recorders will need to be turned back to me at the end of the school year. Students will have to pay $3.50 for recorders and $4.00 for the books if they do not return them to me.
