Expectations and Grading Your Responsibilities
Our mission is to develop leaders who are critical thinkers and effective communicators, committed to service and rooted in faith.

Learn, Think, Decide, Communicate ...

General Expectations:

  1. Students are on time for class.
  2. Computer, books, and other materials are ready before the start of class.
  3. Class will begin with prayer.
  4. Assignments are due at the beginning of class.  Points will be deducted for habitual late work. extensions will not be given for more than 5 school days.  Communicate!  
  5. All assignments are to be emailed
  6. Notes, Quizzes, and Test are to be taken on the computer.
  7. Honor Code is to be followed.  All work cited and all resources are to be listed in MLA format.
  8. All will be treated with respect.


excused absence:  with the exception of long range projects, when absent, work is due within 5 days of returning to school;

Field Trips / Athletics / College Visits / Plays / etc.: Work is due on or before the due date 


Standard for Printed Work:

  1. Full name and period
  2. double spaced
  3. no more than 1.25 margins
  4. Times New Roman 12 font or equivalent
  5. All resources/ works cited/ reference material must be documented


Grading:

40% -- Minor: class participation, quizzes, essays, notes, journal writing, reflection papers, extra credit, and topic research (morality in the news; devotions; etc.)

60% -- Major: projects and test

Retakes: within 5 days; tutoring required; grade: highest grade


miscellaneous ramblings....

Water is the only liquid permitted in the room.

Food is restricted to "group" availability.

Gum is to be neither seen nor heard.

Cell Phones are to be neither seen nor heard.

IPods, MP3, etc.  are not to be used in the classroom, headphone are not to be used in the class. 

Emailing, texting, playing games, surfing the web is not permitted.

Computer etiquette is expected, especially if a visitor is addressing the class.

Pictures cannot be taken without permission of the instructor.

Permission is required to audio / video tape a class.

Students are not to leave the room without a pass.

Uniform are to complete before entering the room.
