Dear Parents, We hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend! This letter covers information for the next two weeks.
The Social Studies year end projects turned out very well. It is nice to see all the students community projects displayed in front of our classroom. Fourth grade has their North Carolina projects on display also. Both projects compliment each other. Come look at them if you get a chance.
In Science, We finish Chapter 9 - Weather and Climate. We will have a guest speaker on Thursday to discuss weather, precipitation, clouds, and climate. He is a Meteorologist for the National Weather Service. Our next chapter will be on the Earth and the moon.
In Social Studies, we will discuss how government works and actions we can take to make our community a better place.
In Reading, the students will continue reading their literature circle books. We will have discussion groups throughout the week. They will also read two stories a day and answer different questions pertinent to the stories. In Math, We will continue working on chapter 8 which is on time and measurement.
In Religion, we will do Chapter 23 - The Church Respects All People and Chapter 24 - The Church is Worldwide. Remember, you are always invited to attend the School Mass with your child on Mondays.
There are only two weeks of school left. Let's try to keep our children motivated and excited about learning. Some of them think Summer has arrived. Please look around your house and see if you have any third grade books or novels. Our classroom library is looking a little scarce.
Please review your child's grades as the graded work comes home in the Friday Folder. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us or call the school and leave a message. Sincerely, Mrs.Sharp Mrs. Heinske
