Books:

All wind instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone and tuba) use the Premiere Performance Method by Ed Sueta.

All drummers use the Alyn Heim Drum Method. 

If you rent from The Music Shop these books will be provided automatically, otherwise please order them where you obtain your instrument.

Supplies:

Clarinets and Saxophones: please purchase a box of Vandoren #2.5 reeds for your instrument, (please do not order #1.5 or #2 strength reeds; they do not work well).  You also may wish to purchase a cleaning swab if you own your own instrument, (they are included with rental instruments). 

Trumpets, French Horns, Trombones, Baritones and Tubas:  please purchase valve oil as needed or slide cream for trombone.  I suggest Al Cass valve oil. 

Drums:  must have a pair of fairly heavy drumsticks (a pair of 2Bs is recommended) without plastic tips.
