Permission to Miss Class to Attend Special Activities
..................Hot news flash: you MUST see me FIRST!!!!!!! |
|
• All students require MY PERSONAL PERMISSION to miss all or part of the classes I teach in order to attend to other class, club, or activity business.
• Whether you are finishing a test or lab or participating in any project of any kind, you must notify me at the start of the class you are requesting permission to miss. I will either grant or deny permission depending on the complexity of the concept I am teaching, the proximity of tests or other evaluations, and upon my assessment of your capability to make up the work you miss independently.
• Unless the principal or vice principal has excused you for the day, you MUST return to class if you return from a field trip during the school day. I am legally responsible for you during your scheduled class time, not your field trip teacher. Should you violate this rule, you will answer to me.
• Students who violate the above will be forbidden to leave my class to attend to club, class or activity business elsewhere for the remainder of the school year. You will also receive a grade of zero for your daily grade, your homework grade and for any tests or quizzes you missed. Period.
• This rule does not apply to attendance at college presentations for which you have previously registered, scheduled field trips, volunteer experiences for our social service organizations, or class assemblies. It is the student's responsibility to request assignments for the time missed due to these absences. See individual class pages for more information about making up missed tests.
• If you have any questions, ask them before you make the mistake of missing all or part of any of my classes without my consent.
