Volunteer Training Because the safety of our students is our top priority, in order to volunteer in any capacity at Ockerman Elementary, you must have a current background check on file and attend a volunteer training class. If you were not able to attend either of the volunteer training sessions please contact Leslie Harney at volunteer4ockerman@yahoo.com. Thank you for your help. We look forward to volunteering with each of you! Just 2 Hours! I am excited to welcome back our students, families and OES staff and proud to introduce one of our newest PTO programs, 2 Hour Power, at our school. PTO’s have long realized that parent involvement is necessary to increase children’s success at school. Our PTO encourages every parent, grandparent and any adult that is involved in an OES child’s life, to participate in the 2 Hour Power Program. Our new program emphasizes that all help, any help, makes a huge difference for our school. The research is so clear – kids at schools with a broad base of involved parents perform markedly better on all kinds of key school measures. Participating in our 2 Hour Power program is easy. We’d love to help you get involved in any way that works for your schedule and interests. What would you like to do? When would you like to do it? We’d like to work with you to make sure all parents can pitch in. Involvement is for everyone. We’d love your 2 Hours, and -- Really! We promise! -– there is no obligation beyond helping out in this small, but important, way. If you’d like to do more...great, but we know that’s not a fit for everyone. Together, we make our school a success! As always, please feel free to call or email if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance, Wendi Hicks PTO President Oes.wendihicks@yahoo.com Everyone who plans to volunteer at Ockerman Elementary has to complete a volunteer training session. If you cannot attend the volunteer training on September 13th, please contact Wendi Hicks at oes.wendihicks@yahoo.com to receive the information needed to volunteer. New background checks are needed this year
